June 17th., 1863. Affidavit file showing that Robert Cox died on or about June 12th., 1863
June 17th., 1863. Petition of Reuben Challand and Robert Mullins for Probate of Will and Letters Testamentary filed representing that Robert Cox died on or about June 12th., 1863, testate and seized of real and personal property.
That said Testator in his said last Will nominated and appointed your Petitioners Executors thereof, and that your petitioners are willing and ready to accept and undertake the office and trust confided to them.
Prays that Letters may issue to them etc.
Subscribed and sworn to before the Clerk of the County Court.
June 17th., 1863. Will file, admitted to Probate and ordered recorded.
In the name of God, Amen.
I, Robert Cox of the Town of Shabbona in the county of DeKalb and State of Illinois of the age of forty six years and being of sound mind and memory do make, publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say:-
First:- I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Stimpson one half of all of my landed estate situated in the Town of Shabbona described as follows, the North half (1/2) of South West Quarter (1/4) of Section Seventeen (17) Tow- thirty eight (38) Range three (3) East.
Second:- I give to my Daughter Martha Spray one half of all of my landed estate situated as above described to be apprised by three men one to be chosen by each party and one to be chosen by those men to apprise the land and if one of the heirs do not buy the other off at the appraisement then to be sold at the best advantage in two years from my decease and the proceeds to be divided between my daughters Mary Stimpson and Martha Spray equally half and half.
And Lastly I appoint Ruben Challand and Robert Mullens my Executors of my Last Will and Testament to sell my personal property and pay my debts of every kind whatsoever left to be divided equally between my daughters and hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 8th day of June in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and sixty three.
