Last Will and Testament of Ella M. Herrick
I, Ella M. Herrick of the Village of Waterman, in the county of DeKalb and State of Illinois, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do hereby make, publish, and declare this to be my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all wills and codicils heretofore by me made.
FIRST: I direct that my just debts and funeral expenses shall be paid as soon after my death as shall be convenient.
SECOND: I give and bequeath to my granddaughter, Jane Ann Dorsey, the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00)
THIRD: I give and bequeath to my grandson, Robert Herrick, the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00)
FOURTH: I give and bequeath to my son, Howard R. Herrick, the household goods and belongings which I may own at the time of my death located in my home in Waterman, Illinois, and also one-half of all bonds and securities and cash of which I may die seized.
FIFTH: I give and bequeath to my son, Norman G. Herrick, one-half of all bonds and securities and cash of which I may die seized.
SIXTH: I give and devise to my son Howard R. Herrick, the Southeast ¼ of Section 13, in Township 37 North, Range 3 East of the 3rd P.M., DeKalb County, Illinois, for his sole use forever.
SEVENTH: I give and devise to my son Norman G. Herrick, the Fractional South ½ of Section 13, in Township 37 North, Range 3 East of the 3rd P.M., DeKalb county, Illinois, for his sole use forever
EIGHTH: I give , devise , and bequeath all the rest and residue of my estate, real, personal and mixed, of which I may own or be entitled to at the time of my death, and also any lapsed legacies or devices, to my sons, Howard R. Herrick and Norman G. Herrick, share and share alike/
LASTLY: I nominate and appoint my sons, Howard R. Herrick and Norman G. Herrick, to be executors of this my last Will and Testament, and requester that no surety be required on their bonds as such Executors.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto signed my name and affixed my seal this 17th day of December, A. D. 1953.
