Thomas McCann, deceased. in Probate. Box No. 692. Estate #84
April 29th, 1912. Will filed and on June 18th, 1912 duly probated and admitted to record.
Will
I, Thomas McCann of the City of DeKalb, County of DeKalb and State of Illinois, of the age of Seventy four (74) years last past, I being 74 years of age on the First day of August, 1910, and being of sound mind and memory, hereby make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, in the manner following, that is to say:
First:- It is my will and desire that all my just debts and funeral expenses be fully paid.
Second:- I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Ann McCann the use of all of my property, real personal and mixed, whether owned by me now or acquired by me hereafter and during the term of natural life, and I hereby authorize and empower her to encumber or sell any or all of said property as necessity may require or as she may deem necessary for the best interest of herself, or the best interest of my estate.
Third:- I give and bequeath to my grand children Ray Sheridan and Mary Sheridan the sum of Five Hundred D0ollars each, to be paid within one year after the death of my wife Ann McCann and I hereby make the same a charge upon my farm situated in Section fifteen in the Township of Milan, DeKalb County, Illinois.
Fourth:- I give, devise and bequeath to my daughter Ellen Taylor or in case she should die before me to her children then surviving the house and lot situated in Taylor’s Addition to the City of DeKalb and now occupied by me as a homestead, subject however to the life use of her mother Ann McCann as provided in the second paragraph of this instrument.
Fifth:- I give, devise and bequeath to my son Thomas McCann, Jr., one third of the remainder of my property subject to the life use of his mother Ann McCann as provided in the second paragraph of this instrument.
Sixth:- I give, devise and bequeath all of the remainder and residue of my property to my sons, Enos McCann, James McCann and John McCann share and share alike subject to the life use of their mother Ann McCann as provided in the second paragraph of this instrument.

The above instrument consisting of one sheet of four pages was on the day of the date thereof; signed, sealed, published and declared by Thomas McCann as and for his last will and testament, in the presence of us, who at his request, and in his presence, and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.

April 29th, 1912. Petition of Ann McCann for Probate of Will and Letters of Administration with the Will annexed filed representing that Thomas McCann who was at the time of his death a resident of the County of DeKalb, State of Illinois, departed this life at DeKalb in said County and State, on or about April 13th, 1912, testate and seized and possessed of real estate valued at about $26000.00 and of personal property estimated to be worth about $100.00.
That said deceased in his said last will nominated and appointed no Executor thereof.
That said deceased left surviving his widow Ann McCann residing at DeKalb, Illinois, and the following named persons as his only heirs at law and legatees; and their respective places of residence so far as known, are as follows:,

Petitioner being the widow of said deceased prays that Letters of Administration with the Will annexed may issue to her.
