In the Name of God Amen. I Ann O’Connell of the Town of Shabbona in the County of DeKalb and State of Illinois of the age of forty four years and being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in the manner following that is to say:
First:- I give and bequeath to my Niece Mary Murtha all of my household goods consisting of Beds, Bedding and Bedsteds and furniture of all description together with carpets and every thing pertaining to House Keeping now in my possession in my house and occupied by me in the Village of Shabbona Dekalb County, State of Illinois with one exception I hereby order that my husband Michael O’Connell shall have the use of one bed & bedding for his use during his natural life at his the said Michael O’Connell deceased the above bed & bedding shall be delivered to the said Mary Murtha also all of my wearing apparel of every description is to be the property of the said Mary Murtha absolute.
Second: I give and bequeath to my husband Michael O’Connell all the personal property except the above, that I may be possessed of whatever kind whatsoever after paying my funeral expenses.
Lastly: I give and bequeath to my husband Michael O’Connell all the rest residue and remainder of my Real Estate as shown by Deeds in my possession and recorded in Sycamore, DeKalb County, Illinois after paying all Just Claims against said real estate absolute. I do hereby nominate and appoint my Friend G. M. Alexander to be the executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other or former wills by me maid. (sic)
