Life of our people is to remember forever...

Mystery Pictures

Where was this barn?  The photo came from Carl Jump’s photo album.  He worked for PDW Excavating Company, Shabbona, IL during the late 50s/early 60s, running the Cat dozer.  Later he worked for Lowell Sampson, doing the same thing.  So, it is a little difficult to date the picture without knowing which company took the barn down.   Our source has done his homework.  He has concluded that more than likely this barn stood within a circumference of 15 miles around Shabbona.  Any ideas?  Can you identify either of the men standing by the wreckage?

PROBLEM SOLVED:  Three people verified that the barn was located north of a farm near the intersection of Woodlawn and Herman Roads.  It was still standing in the early 1970s, so we’re still not sure of the demolition date.
