WILL
In the Name of God, Amen
I, S. C .E. Hallam of Shabbona in the County of DeKalb and state of Illinois being of sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life, do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament.
First: – I order and direct that my Executor herinafter named, pay all my just debts and funeral expenses as soon after my decease as conveniently may be.
Second: – After the payment of such funeral expenses and just debts, I give devise and bequeath to my wife, Elizabeth Hallam, the use of all my estate both real and personal, which shall include Lots Numbered One (1), Two (2) and the North one-half of Lot Number Three (3) in Block Number Eight (8) in the Village of Shabbona, DeKalb Co., Illinois, and my farm of One Hundred and Sixty (160) acres of farm land in the Township of Shabbona, DeKalb County and State of Illinois, described as follows: – The East half (E½) 0f the South Ease Quarter (SE¼) of Section 28 and the East half of the North East Quarter (NE¼) of Section Thirty-three (33) Township No. 38N.,Range3, East of the 3d P.M. The use of the same and all rents and income to be derived therefrom, I give to my said wife for her sole use and benefit, during the term of her natural life, the same to be received and accepted by her in lieu or instead of any widows dower or widows award to which she would be entitled, in my estate under the statutes of Illinois.
Third: – After the decease of my said wife, Elizabeth Hallam, I give, devise and bequeath to my son Charles P, Hallam and to my daughter Winnifred Campion Lots numbered One (1), Two (2) and the North one-half of Lot Number Three (3) in Block Number Eight (8) in the Village of Shabbona, Illinois as above described, to be divided between them share and share alike.
Fourth: – After the decease of my said wife, Elizabeth Hallam, I give, devise and bequeath, all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate both real, personal and mixed of whatever name and nature whatsoever to my son, Charles P. Hallam, and to my three daughters, Emily Hettenhousen, Winnifred Campion and Mildred Guilofoyle, to be equally divided between them share and share alike.
Lastly: – I make m constitute and appoint my said Son, Charles P. Hallam, to be the Executor of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
In Witness Whereof, I have herunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal, the fourth day of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred Ten.

CODICIL
Whereas I, S.C.E. Hallam have made my last Will and Testament bearing the date the fourth day of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred Ten, in and by which I have given and bequeathed, (after the death of my said wife, Elizabeth Hallam), to my daughter Winnifred Campion, an undivided one-half of Lots numbered One (1), Two (2) and the North one-half of Lot Number Three (3) in Block Number Eight (8) in the Village of Shabbona, Illinois, as provide in Section Third (3rd) of my said Will, and have also in Section Fourth (4th) of said Will , made a provision whereby my said daughter, Winnifred Campion shall be given, (after the death of my said wife, Elizabeth Hallam) an undivided one-fourth of all the rest , residue and remainder of my estate real, personal and mixed of every name and nature whatsoever, which shall remain after the death of my said wife, Elizabeth. Now, therefore, I do, by this my writing which I hereby declare to be a codicil to my said last Will and Testament, and to be taken as a part thereof, order and declare that my will is that the shares of property, Real, personal and mixed which are given, in Section Third and Fourth of my said will, to my said daughter Winnifred Campion, or whatever part of my estate, she would be entitled to receive under sections 3rd and 4th of said Will, after the death of my said wife, Elizabeth, it is now provided (if my said daughter Winnifred, shall survive her) shall at that time be given to my son Charles p, Hallam, in Trust for the benefit of my said daughter Winnifred Campion, and that as such Trustee, said Charles P. Hallam, may and shall disburse said share or shares of my estate, to her from time to time as shall in his judgment seem best for her best interest and welfare, and that he shall have power to sell if necessary , or in his judgment it shall seem best for her interest –any or all of her undivided share or part of the Real Estate and may disburse in the same way to her, and he may at any time when thinks it for her best interest turn over to her all of the shares to which she would be entitled under the provisions of this Codicil. If my said daughter, Winnifred shall not survive my wife, Elizabeth, then it is my will that the shares of my estate herein given to my daughter Winnifred through my son Charles P. Hallam as trustee, be given to my said son Charles P. in trust for my Granddaughter Hazel Campion, to be held in trust by him and disbursed to said Hazel Campion in the same way and manner and with the same powers as herein before provided in the case of Winnifred Campion, my daughter.
Lastly it is my desire that this Codicil be annexed to and made a part of my Last Will and Testament as aforesaid to all intents and purposes.
