January 22nd, 1929  Will and codicil filed, duly probated and admitted to record.

LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT

I, David N. Cory, of Paw Paw Township, in the County of DeKalb, and State of Illinois, being of sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life, do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare, this to be my last Will and Testament:

First, I order and direct that my executor hereinafter named pay all my just debts and funeral expenses as soon after my decease as conveniently may be.

Second, After the payment of such funeral expenses and debts, I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved wife, Susan M. Cory, the use and income from all of my property, both real and personal, during her lifetime, and after her death then all of the property shall be divided equally between our two sons, Ralph J. Cory and Jesse W. Cory, each to share and share alike;  But in the event of the death of either son, without a child or children, then that ones share shall go to the other one if living; but in the event of the death of both sons without a child or children, then the property shall go to the Cory  heirs according to the laws of decent of the State of Illinois.

Lastly, I make, constitute and appoint my son Jesse W. Cory, to be executor of this, my last will and testament, hereby requesting and directing that no surety be required on his bond as such executor.

I hereby revoke all former wills and codicils by me made.

In Witness whereof, I have hereto subscribed my name this 28th day of September, in the year of our Lord, one thousand and nine hundred and twenty six (A. D. 1926).

This instrument was on the day of the date thereof signed, published and declared by the said testator David N. Cory, to be his last Will and Testament, in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our names hereto as witnesses.

CODICIL

I, David N. Cory, make this codicil to my last will and testament, dated September 28th, 1926 and hereby confirm said will so far as this codicil is consistent therewith.

I hereby nominate and appoint my beloved wife Susan M. Cory, to be the executrix of my last Will and Testament, in the place of Jesse W. Cory, named as executor in my said last Will and Testament.

In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal, at Earlville, Illinois, this 20th day of July, A. D. 1928,

January 2nd, 1929:  Petition of Susan M. Cory for Probate of Will and Letters Testamentary filed, representing that David N. Cory, who was at the time of his death, a resident of the County of DeKalb, State of Illinois, departed this life at Clinton Township, in DeKalb County , State of Illinois, on or about the 18th day of January, A. D. 1929, testate, and seized and possessed of real estate valued at about $21,000.00.

That said deceased left surviving his Susan M. Cory residing at Paw Paw Township, DeKalb County, Illinois, his widow, and the following named persons as his only heirs at law and legatees, and their respective places of residence so far as known are as follows – Ralph J. Cory, son, adult, Valparaiso, Indiana, and Jesse W. Cory, son, adult, Earlville, Illinois.
