In the Matter of the Estate of William VanVelzor, deceased.

Jan. 6th., 1908    Will filed and on Jan. 13th., 1908 admitted to probate and ordered recorded.

WILL

In the Name of God, Amen.

I, William VanVelzor of Shabbona in the County of DeKalb and State of Illinois, being of sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life, do therefore make, ordain , publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, hereby expressly revoking and annulling any and all other wills or bequests heretofore made by me.

First — I order and direct that my Executor hereinafter named, pay all my just debts and funeral expenses as soon after my decease as conveniently may be.

Second — After the payment of such funeral expenses and debts, I give, devise and bequeath to my wife Emily VanVelzor for sole use and benefit to be accepted and received by her in lieu of any widow’s dower or award – Lot number seven (7) and the west half of Lot No. Six (6) all in Block number twenty six (26)  in the Corporate Village of Shabbona, DeKalb County, Illinois.  Also other land.

Third — Bequeaths to daughter, Essie May Davis other land than Caption hereof.

Fourth — Bequeaths to son-in-law, Roy Davis, other land than Caption hereof.

Fifth — Bequeaths to the Trustees of the Rose Hill Cemetery Association of Shabbona, Illinois, and their successors, in trust, other land than Caption hereof.

Sixth — Disposes of personal property.

Lastly — I make, constitute and appoint Reuben Challand to be the Executor of this, my last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof, I have hereto subscribed my name and affixed my seal, the twenty-eighth day of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred Seven
